It has been brought to our attention that there are so many people that have been duped into purchasing a product from RCI, that is not all that it is cracked up to be! There have been many consumers in the last few months that have been very much surprised by the fact that TATOC and RDO members RCI are involved in a ‘Timeshare Scam’ with them being the agent for so many consumers.

One client, from South Carolina, that recently purchased RCI points, has declared that they are “BIG SCAMMERS”

They sold this particular client so many ‘points’ to enjoy their future holidays as a family, whom were soon to discover that the points they had purchased, were not even enough for a one week stay in a timeshare resort.  At this point, they were lured into purchasing more points to be able to have a week holiday.  This client then tried to relieve themselves of the points that they had bought, and turned to a resale company which was recommended by many and promptly discovered it was related with RCI so that was yet another $400 down the drain because they were cheated by them too.

Another client, from Arizona, that was using their RCI points for the very first time, stated RCI SUCKS! Do Not Sign Up With Them Or Anyone Affiliated With Them!

This owner gifted a hotel stay for four people to his elderly parents and their friends, another elderly couple. When the owner booked the 2 bedroom suite at the Holiday Inn Express the details did not mention the configuration of the sleeping quarters so to be sure he contacted RCI direct to clarify. His call was transferred to the hotel direct to confirm the exact lay out, where he was told 2 bedrooms suites both contain king size beds. Happy with the outcome he asked to reserve the room through the advisor there and then but was directed to the RCI website to complete the booking.  On arrival at the hotel his parents and their friends, all of whom are seniors, were showed to the room to be shocked to find a 1 bedroom unit with a queen sleeper sofa. This was totally unacceptable for the seniors, especially as the owner had called to clarify. He promptly called RCI to attempt to rectify the situation and was told that because the reservation was done online they take no responsibility for the booking. We said that their own agent confirmed the booking and they replied that there was no phone log records of our call. Not only are they a ripoff but they also seem to bending the truth.

One is in utter disbelief as to how a company of this stature can treat its owners and guests this way.  RCI boasts 3.7 million members worldwide with over 4000 affiliated resorts in various countries all over the world. One would imagine that fooling unsuspecting owners into buying a product that is not as it seems must be illegal no?

If you may have had any similar experiences with RCI like the above feel free to contact us on the below information to let us know.
