The TCA have been approached by numerous, concerned consumers who have been cold called by Anderson Read Consultancy.

Anderson Read Consultancy entice timeshare owners with an invitation to a meeting, which they are then lead to believe is because they have a claim under a “no win, no fee” proposal, offering them a full refund from their timeshare membership.

Redditch are where the meetings are to take place, however, the spokesperson you are invited to meet with are not employees of Anderson Read but from RSB Legal / RSB International Group.

These sessions usually take to several hours, and are mostly expanded on informing the consumer that they have indeed been “mis-sold”.   Therefore, all monies can be claimed back in full.

The “no win, no fee” basis is a 70-30 split, 30% being the consumer’s percentage.

Many consumers have informed us that, RSB Legal, who have only been trading for 1 year, are telling the consumers that in fact they have been trading since 2012 and to date have recovered over 20 million in compensation.  We wonder why they feel it necessary to exaggerate the actual time they have been trading, and it’s seems startling to believe they have recovered such a considerable amount of money when there seem to be no positive case studies publicised, just negative consumer feedback.

A further service offered by RSB Legal, is that of relinquishing the consumer’s timeshare contract for a fee of £10,000.  They insisted on credit card details and one Club La Costa owner who was asked for over £2,300 deposit on the day said they

“felt pressurised into making a decision there and then.”

Consumers have fallen for companies like this due to their frustration with their ownership and the difficulty they face every time they come to book a holiday and find that there is no availability.  Some owners reported they are now paying over £1,800 each year – which is a huge amount of money when you aren’t getting what you want – and to rub further salt into the wound, the availability you do want can be found online a lot cheaper for anyone to book.

The consumer needs to be cautious if contact by Anderson Read Consultancy, they use the telephone number 0289 5217 211, and the arranged meeting is actually not with them.  We have had reports of consumers being told by Anderson Read that they had a “very confident” claim of “£40,000 +” This can entice even the savviest of owners but be aware as the “no win, no fee” will still incur a £10,000 upfront fee!

We would certainly like to hear from you If Anderson Read Consultancy has invited you to a meeting.   You can email us at Info@TimeshareConsumerAssociation.org.uk
