Beware of the company name Abogacia Española, they are the latest Spanish ‘lawyers’ to appear on the timeshare owners watch list, claiming to assist owners of timeshares.

The so called legal team call the unsuspecting timeshare owner, and claim to have a legal battle in progress with the particular timeshare resort where this client owns (funnily enough all timeshare resorts are in the middle of court proceedings).  Once they establish that the client does own at a particular resort, the cold caller goes on to tell the client that their decision is needed rapidly, as the court proceedings are already moving.  They will inform you that you will be due for compensation, the only thing that you need to do to guarantee this pay out, is make a deposit to an account (after signing falsified documents with fake business registration numbers) for administration fees.

This is not the first time that we have heard this story, there are a lot of lawyers opening in Spain due to the Supreme court rulings against floating weeks and timeshares purchased in perpetuity.  This particular website http://abogaciaespanola.com was only registered on 8th December 2016, by Domain Admin in Queensland Australia.  A bit odd, one would think as they claim on their home page to have ’15 years of presence on the internet’.  Should there not be a previous URL referenced here if this is the case?

The CIF number that they provide on their home page, when checked on the internet, does not give any company results, the results simply say that it does not exist.  However, their website refers to Fernando Roleba Holaci, the founder of their company in 1990, around 25 years ago.  On further investigation, it was possible to connect this to another website address http://fernandoholaci.com/, also registered in December 2016, 3 days after the first website.  This may mean that the lawyers have simply registered the web address with another server, however, all a bit odd.  This website states their copyright since 2001.

There are several inconsistencies here, and it seems that this is a pop up lawyers out to grab some money off of timeshare owners.  We at the TCA would like to bring it to your attention, that not all is as it may seem, and although the websites look professional enough, never be fooled, double check what you are getting yourself into.  We would strongly recommend to not give any personal details to these companies, and if any other companies try to call you with the same story, please investigate them before you make any payment to them.
