Diamond Resorts International (DRI)

Good News from DRI Diamond

As previously stated DRI is a vacation ownership (similar to a Holiday club or a timeshare), DRI allows people to purchase a timeshare interest in 89 managed resorts and 163 affiliated resorts.

It was the case and despite the obvious spender of the resorts in the portfolio of Diamond resorts that there existed blight as far as British consumers were concerned and that blight was the complaints procedure and the exit strategy offered by Diamond.

In many occasions the company would not permit a rightful exit or partake in what British consumer believed to be meaningful dialog in respect to complaints.

That all appears to have changed (under its present management team), which we reported on a few weeks ago.

To that end we have been carrying out some scant research as to the applied changes and the effects which have resulted.

Strangely solicitors in the United Kingdom shy away from Diamond resorts (at present) as they cannot make a good living. One such firm explained “if all resorts adopted this new approach then we would be forced to obtain hand outs and visit food banks as DRI quickly evaluate the position and adopt a rational approach if those consumer complaints have merit”. That was from timeshare Solicitor. Others have remarked with a different bent but along the same lines. This approach not only saves DRI money but is also save the Timeshare consumer the heart ache, the stress and the hefty balance is left in the consumers pocket after the TAX Man has had a dabble.

I have received 12 alleged complaints about Diamond Resorts in the last 6 months and those complaints (I have to say) were not complaints (as such) but requests for advice as to how to exit, as they claimed that they had in truth signed a contract, enjoyed the fruits of those contracts and wish now to leave and for reasons which where un affiliated to any action or inaction of DRI. So upon cursory evaluation and over the last six months I find myself  strangely supporting the position of DRI as they are a progressive enterprise in timeshare.

DRI’s global headquarters at Charleston Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada. It claims to be “one of the largest hospitality companies in the world”. Presently DRI claim it has more than 490,000 owners and members.

It would be very interesting to know if a comparison is available as the departmental profit shift after the new directing mind of DRI took over Sun Terra. If that were available this might be new day, a new way and a light at the end of what some call a bleak tunnel.

In conclusion it appears wise interim advice to suggest that consumers seek a communication with This Corporation before engaging a UK solicitor as the added costs of those solicitors could inflate the outlay of what could be reasonable offer from DRI. Capitulation in many cases could bring a resolution which is fair, reasonable and this enterprise has made bounding steps in moving away from the crass. It has developed wise, meaningful and just approaches to what has always been an industry problem, as such and having regard to proportionality DRI ought to be commended not continually admonished.
