The above phrase was coined in the political arena and levelled at our servant MP’s (members of parliament). The words’ we are your servants ‘is generally used by the powers that be, where as in reality the claim is puffery.
It’s rare that we, the consumers, ever get to find out the whole truth in respect to the core information, the reasons and the wherefores as generally are never revealed as scratching backs and masking dubious adventures of others rule, so equal roguish behaviour and culprits are not fuly exposed.
The wanton disrespect of citizen’s money in some cases beggar’s rational belief.
Avoiding the issue of timeshare for one moment and delving into the how some in the European parliament operate, consumers and tax payers can see why the world is in such a mess.
Recently what hit the headlines was the failure of the Greek central bank to pay its way whilst demanding that the citizens of Europe handover many billions to prop up the “knackered” Greek bank system.
In my small world, I believe you should ask for the money not demand it! Ignoring niceties the Greeks in the negotiations made many allegations of “unfairness” of “tight fisted monitory systems” and alleged financial pressure brought about by Germany and against the Greeks. In this arena the Greeks courted Russia and hammered the press claiming unfair condition and allegations of wilful destruction of the Greek economy.
In stark contrast what was not fully explained to the public, was why the Greeks were in such a pickle in the first place.
In respect to Greece it is claimed that they falsified their national accounts to enter the euro-zone and then juggled the facts until the whole economy finally exploded into the financial sham.
After this manipulation the Greek government continued to:-
Retire its populace at aged 50. Not 65.
It was (by way of example) reported that at one Greek hospital employed 50 gardeners for the maintenance of 1 lawn and 4 bushes. If that is not wanton waste I don’t know what is.
Another example is that 550 million Euros a year was being paid to 40,000 girls as life pensions. This equates to 1,000 Euros a month each. Why? Simply because they were unmarried daughters of deceased civil servants.
What is more barking mad is that many workers in Greece who are aged 55 were/are forced to retire on health and safety grounds, as 1 in 600 jobs were considered by the Greek government as harmful. Such dangerous jobs were noted as hairdressing (dangerous dyes) musicians of wind instruments (blowing is tiring) TV presenters (microphones can be harmful and damaging to health).
The list of inefficient goes on as more than 25% of Greeks pay no personal tax whatsoever.
Retirees also receive 95% of their earlier salary where as the Germans (who are the main contributors to the leaky Geek Government) only receive 40%. It’s no wonder the Germans have the hump.
In an apparent show of good will, the Greeks have recently eliminated 10,000 postal workers; however 8,200 of those jobs were dummy positions.
Grease holds the world record for the highest population in the world of people over the age of 110, noteworthy its deaths are not always registered and the pensions just keep rolling in.
To ensure that everyone gets the fair share of the loans competitiveness as bailed out as hospitals paying for pacemakers were paying prices in excess of 400 times the market price of UK hospitals
If these alleged facts as reported by Euro News are correct then should the Greeks take their noses out of the ouzo once and for all and play by the same rules which we all have to abide by.
Returning to timeshare, the industry has its own major problems. When many timeshares are sold they are just that:-sold and not bought. They are misrepresented, misstated and recklessly overpriced.
After an initial exodus those resorts formulated plans to stop people from leaving, instigating advertising campaigns to avoid reality, screening consumer rights and lavishing themselves with false credibility’s which many did or do not deserve.
In this back drop, many defunct timeshare salesmen have entered the legal profession and begun to prey again on the mis-sold victims, scamming them over and over again. One has to wonder where those scammers got the contact details from. The industry is alert to keeping consumers from forming into groups and keeps close the entire list of the members, so where to these scammers get the lists from?
I know not of one criminal case whereby a resort actioned a claim against its employees servants or agents for selling off the information.
The timeshare industry, its selling practices and its convoluted contracts are blighted. Prosecutions and civil proceeding are everywhere. Why, because the consumers are unhappy, they are disgruntled and frustrated. At each and every turn the industry balk that they need to make a profit, yet those profits are vast in comparison to other industries and they pour funding into paint pots to whitewash what is in reality corroding bark.
The industry’s satellite enterprises are not the friends of consumers, they are not best placed to create a fair and meaningful holiday experience and the word hospitality cannot truthfully be owned by them these days.
Don’t be duped by misinformation!
A false precept will fail and a whitewash will not help the image of timeshare. That is was the Greek situation and they had a continuance of the blight upset anger and torment. The comparison with the timeshare industry is quite apparent.
