TATOC and RDO members, Silverpoint Vacation Club, seem to be diversifying their business model by offering a “Timeshare Health Check”.
The pages must still be under development as you can only find the cached version in Google, not the live pages yet, but we can give you a sneak preview so you can be wary when you see their offer.
The full cached pages can be seen here; Silverpoint Timeshare Healthcheck, it reads;
What health is your timeshare in?
Do you have questions about the health of your timeshare?
Take advantage of this brilliant offer and receive a free timeshare health check from a licensed industry professional.
During this fabulous holiday you will have the opportunity to find out how to get the most from your timeshare ownership along with a week of first class accommodation in a top resort plus lots of added extras.
And best of all – you don’t need to use your Points or Week entitlements – this offer is for a straight rental for just £99 per person.
- Seven nights of accommodation at the Beverly Hills Club, Los Cristianos
- Free timeshare health check with an industry professional
- Sunseeker excursion
- Daily Breakfast Buffet
- Transfer from the airport on arrival in Tenerife
All this for just £99 per person.
One would find this proposal curious as the offer could be seen by the Advertising Standards Authority, ASA, as a bait and switch offer, to entice clients in for a “Timeshare Health Check” only to then switch and sell them a Silverpoint product.
In England and Wales, bait and switch is banned under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Breaking this law can result in a criminal prosecution, an unlimited fine and two years in jail.
Nowhere does it seem to mention that a presentation will be required or that they will be shown Silverpoint products during this check-up, there aren’t actually any terms and conditions mentioned on the site, but for £99 per person this will be a requirement.
