We have reported on a lot of companies arising from no-where following on from the Spanish court’s rulings due to contracts in perpetuity having been deemed illegal.  There are several methods that these companies are using to gain your trust, then they trick you into paying them money for one reason or another and you never see it again.

We have just heard about another scam, that seems so unbelievable, but people are still being tricked.  In this scheme, there are cold callers calling timeshare owners, saying that they have been given their details from the Spanish courts.  The use of a legal entity such as the courts in their pitch starts to put the client at ease.  Do not let it put you at ease, indeed it should have the reverse affect.  Courts and Lawyers cannot give out personal information for such use, it would be considered a breach of confidence in relation to personal privacy laws.  Therefore, these are the first signs of alarm bells.

The company in question is calling timeshare owners under the name of Wilson & Co, basically saying that they have received the timeshare owners details from the Spanish courts.  They explain that there is a pot of funds that have been received and are payable to these timeshare owners in respect of their timeshare.  The company are calling from a fixed land-line number, which, at the moment is not registered as fraudulent or problematic.  The phone-number is 0207 043 1918, however, this may change.

The first call is solely to make the client aware of this pot of funds, then the second call is the one they jump in and ask for your money.  This money is seemingly to pay the court taxes to release their funds.  This is a scam; you will not receive a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  Please BEWARE of Wilson & Co calling from 0207 043 1918.  If you do happen to hear from them, please give us a call, at the moment we have no further details as to where this supposed business is based, their website or their email address.  If any readers have this information, please let us know by calling on the number below, or email us to info@timeshareconsumerassociation.org.uk.
