We at TCA were recently contacted and warned about a company called Timeshare Answers.

Mrs X recently contacted Timeshare Answers looking for some help with regards to her timeshare. Timeshare Answers looked like a good company and she started speaking to a woman there called Gina for some advice and direction. She was told what the charges would be, and if Timeshare Answers gave any extra help in her fight to get her money back, then there would be an additional 15% charge.

The reason she had contacted Timeshare Answers was that she had a contract with Wyndham that she had been trying to cancel for some time. She already had some paperwork to show the working that she had already done. She was assured by Timeshare Answers that they would help her, however, only a few months later Wyndham said they would cancel her contract and refund the monies she had put in back to her. Luckily as she had great credit Wyndham had backed her purchase and she hadn’t run off to get a loan to pay for her timeshare. Therefore the money that she had put into the transaction so far was roughly $1500. Timeshare Answers got in touch with her to congratulate her on the positive outcome with Wyndham and at this point she didn’t believe she had anything additional to pay to Timeshare Answers as she had paid the initial fee and didn’t feel as though, or see an action, that showed Timeshare Answers doing any ‘extra’ work.

However, shortly afterward she received communication from Gina who advised that she owed Timeshare Answers $1605.02!! This was because Timeshare Answers believed that she had paid Wyndham $7102.12. However, when she disputed this with Gina she seemed to fail to understand that she had only put in $1500 to Wyndham and not paid the full amount. What a SHOCKER!

Now you may see something here that doesn’t seem right, even if Timeshare Answers had done an extra work for this already stressed consumer, 15% of what she is has paid is not $1605.02, it would be more like $225 (of the $1500 she had paid to Wyndham). Now let’s say she actually had paid the full amount to Wyndham ($7102.12), 15% of that figure is $1065, not the £1605 that she had been told in the email from Gina. Looks like there are scams taking place in all different areas of timeshare.

Now she is having trouble getting back in contact with Timeshare Answers, when she did speak to them she was told to ‘fight for her money’ even though she’d not paid any more than what she had been given back by Wyndham and now they are not answering her emails and refuse to believe what she is saying and what is clearly documented.

Her message is that she feels as though Timeshare Answers have no integrity, they won’t listen and have in fact made her feel like a pawn so they could just get more money from her. Mrs. X commented she would not recommend them to anyone, so please be aware.

If you need some help from someone, ensure that you are fully happy with their credentials and solid signed agreements are in place for what you are asking them to do.
