Oya Narin, Turkeys Tourism Investors Association chairperson has predicted that the tourism is set to rise in Turkey throughout 2018.  The tourism levels are expected to be the same this year as they were back in 2014 and 2015.  This has not come without copious amounts of effort and transformation to the country brought about after the tourism congress last November.  There has been a large increase in tourist accommodation, encompassing many accommodations that have recently been refurbished and updated.

Bodrum and Istanbul are already very prepared for year-round tourism, however when leaving these two main cities, the tourism period is cut very short, in fact, just the summer, which averages about 160 days per year.  The idea is to look at ways to make this figure increase to year-round tourism throughout the whole country.  The plans to make this achievable are to build more tourist accommodation, condos, vacation clubs etc.  To allow for visitors to enjoy this dynamic country all year.  There has also been an extension on 49-year leases, which means that Timeshare can still be actively sold, and possibilities of new timeshare resorts may arise from this decision.

Physical attractions that should boost the tourism in Turkey are the beautiful coasts that the country boasts along with being steeped in history at every turn.  There is more of a focus on attracting elder tourists whom have longer holiday periods and are more likely to return year on year to a similar location with similar accommodation.  There will be a real push towards the healthy living and facilities provided to aid the less abled tourist, opening up an even wider marketplace.

Narin also speaks of how they plan to provide better culinary options, cultural and entertainment in the lesser visited locations to improve the country as a whole for the potential 1.5billion people that are within the 3-hour travelling radius to arrive at one of Turkeys popular destinations.  We look forward to the comeback of Turkey and its positive outlook.  We wait with anticipation to see what the future may bring for Timeshare resorts, possible job opportunities and a lot more.

Saying that, there are still a couple of hurdles that the country must supersede, including its fluctuating exchange rates and reputation from the last few years.  There is a very positive outlook for the countries future, if they get their marketing and their improvements right, tourism in Turkey could certainly be set to rise.
