Florida

Florida has many popular timeshare resorts, with many owners flocking there year after year. Here at the Timeshare Consumer Association, we are detailing the many reasons that make Florida the timeshare destination this month.

Orlando has roughly 50% of Florida’s timeshare resorts. It truly is a timeshare Mecca with more than 30 timeshare developers and around 100 different resorts to choose from. The Orlando timeshare market offers every timeshare product imaginable, from vacation ownership and fractional ownership to points systems. There is a timeshare product to suit every need.

One of Orlando’s biggest attractions is the huge collection of theme parks and family attractions, such as Sea World, The Orlando Science Centre, the Kennedy Space Centre, Universal Studios and Universal’s Volcano Bay water park and lets not forget the many Walt Disney World parks including the iconic Magic Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

The popularity with the timeshare scene in Orlando even prompted Disney to develop its own timeshare product, The Disney Vacation Club.

Kissimmee, which is just minutes away from the main attractions of Orlando, is perfect for people looking for things other than visiting theme parks. Take a trip to Gatorland, with every Crocodile and Alligator species known to man, or see them in their natural habitat while kayaking on Lake Toho or Shingle Creek.

Head south and you will find another of Florida’s popular timeshare destinations, Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale is home to one of Florida’s best beaches and it attracts millions of visitors every year. Along this amazing beach you will find many shops and restaurants and there are plenty of nightlife spots close by.

Fort Lauderdale also has a variety of museums the whole family can enjoy, many parks and river boats tours that take you past Millionaire’s Row.

Slightly further south, Miami’s timeshare resorts can be found. Miami is a multi-cultural destination that offers something for every timeshare owner. Head to the American Airlines Arena to visit the home of NBA’s Miami Heat. The Arena is also the main venue for large concerts and special events. As well as many Zoos, parks and beaches for the family to enjoy and any shoppers out there will be in heaven visiting Bayside Marketplace. Bayside Marketplace is an outdoor mall located along Miami’s waterfront with over 150 different shops, restaurants and cafes. They also have daily live entertainment for people to enjoy.

Florida’s Key West in the southernmost city in the United States and has a unique mixture of culture. The island may be relatively small but is filled with a colourful history of poverty and prosperity, death and rebirth.

Most of the architecture you will find in Key West has a Caribbean feel to it with many of the houses built from coral rock or salvaged ship boards. The architecture adds to the laid-back atmosphere along with the Afro-Caribbean and Spanish cuisine that is on offer.
Key West has been home to many famous authors including Robert Frost, Ernest Hemmingway and Tennesse Williams. You will also find the restored Harry S Truman Little White House here. It was originally built in 1890 and was used as officers quarters. Now a museum, the original decor has remained intact from the Truman era. Little White House was once used as a vacation retreat for former United State Presidents Truman, Kennedy and Eisenhower.
